LEAP is a social welfare organization that aims to change the narrative surrounding the Black experience. Our focus is on the lived experiences of the Descendants of U.S. Chattel Slavery--American Freedmen. We believe that centering the reparations discussion around lineage is necessary for having the right conversations about the debt that is owed.

LEAP is committed to redefining the way we approach social welfare. Our goal is to empower the descendants of U.S. Chattel Slavery by providing them with the resources and support they need to succeed. We believe that by focusing on lineage, we can create real change and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.

Our Journey So Far

2010

LEAP IS FOUNDED

LEAP is founded with the goal of changing the narrative surrounding the Black experience and providing support to the descendants of U.S. Chattel Slavery.

2012

LEAP LAUNCHES FIRST PROGRAM

LEAP launches its first program, which focuses on providing educational resources and support to young Black students.
